QR codes and the scanner
Start a checklist or open a record with one scan.
Where QR codes come from
- Checklists and locations: managers open More → Manage → QR codes for a printable sheet.
- Equipment: the labels page on the equipment list.
- Patients (hospitals): each admitted patient has a bedside QR code on their page. Print it and keep it at the bed.
- Test orders: each order has a printable sample label with its accession number and a QR code. Stick it on the tube or request form. See Register test orders.
Print the sheet and fix each code where the work happens.
Scanning
Tap the Scan button in the bottom bar and point the camera at a code. You can also use your phone's normal camera app.
- A checklist code opens that checklist, ready to start.
- A location code lists the checklists for that place.
- An equipment code opens the equipment with its history and quick actions.
- A bedside patient code opens the patient's care plan.
- A sample label opens the test order, so the lab can update its status on arrival.
Note: Codes open CareList, so the person scanning must be signed in to your company. Codes are unique and cannot be guessed.
