Admit and manage patients
Keep a list of admitted patients with ward and bed (hospitals only).
Patients appears in the bottom bar and under More → Clinical when your company type is Hospital and your role has patient access. Diagnostic centres do not admit patients, so they use Diagnostics instead.
Who can do what
- Admit, edit, add checklists, apply the standard plan, discharge and readmit: Doctor / consultant, Nursing superintendent, Front office / reception, and the full-access roles (Administrator, Medical director / superintendent, Quality manager, older Manager accounts).
- View patients and run their checklists: also Staff nurse, Pharmacist and Head of department.
- No access: lab, imaging, biomedical and housekeeping roles. They do not see Patients, and a patient link or bedside QR code shows 403.
Every opening of a patient page is recorded in the audit log. See Roles and what each can do.
Admit a patient
Tap create and enter the patient's name and UHID / MRN (required), plus gender, date of birth, blood group, phone, attendant, ward, bed, attending doctor, diagnosis or reason for admission, allergies and notes. You can apply the standard care plan right at admission.
The patient page
Shows the details, a bedside QR code, the checklists assigned to this patient, and recent results. People who can admit can also edit details, add checklists, apply the standard plan, discharge or readmit.
Find a patient
Use the search on the Patients screen, or global search, by name, UHID, ward or bed.
Tip: Patient details also appear as a banner when a nurse runs a checklist for that patient, and on the PDF report.
