Radiologist

Report and verify imaging studies, flag critical findings, review safety screening and keep imaging TAT on target.

Radiologist

Who this is for

You are a Radiologist: the person who reports imaging studies and signs them off. Your role can:

  • see every test order,
  • tap Mark as reported on a study after the scan,
  • verify (sign off) imaging reports,
  • flag critical findings.

The scan itself (Scan done), registration, cancellation and delivery belong to the radiographer and the front desk.

What you see

Bottom tab bar: Home, Tasks, Scan, Diagnostics and More. In a hospital your fourth tab is still Diagnostics.

More sheet: Notifications; Clinical → Diagnostics; Work → My Team Dashboard, Corrective Actions, My History, Overall Histories; Biomedical & facility → Equipment, Work orders; then My account, User manual and Help center.

Your day

  1. Open Diagnostics and choose Imaging in All departments. Tap the In progress chip.
  2. Work through studies at Scan done, STAT first. Check the safety screening (below), report and verify.
  3. Check the TAT breached tile. You are alerted once per imaging order that passes its target.
  4. Phone and log any critical finding.
  5. If a Contrast Administration Check is assigned to you, complete it.

Step by step

Check the safety screening

  1. Open the study. Under Checklists, a completed Imaging Safety Screening shows the technologist and the score.
  2. Tap it to see the answers: identity, correct study, Pregnancy status (females 10–55), allergies and contrast history, metal removed, preparation and lead shielding.
  3. If the answer is Pregnant – radiologist informed, decide before the study goes ahead.

Report and verify a study

  1. Open the order (from the list, a search, or by scanning its label from Scan).
  2. Read the images in your PACS and write the report as usual.
  3. Tap Mark as reported.
  4. When you are ready to sign off, tap Mark as verified. The message shows the TAT and (on time) or (target missed).

The imaging pipeline is Registered → Scan done → Reported → Verified → Delivered. See Imaging study workflow.

Flag a critical finding

The Flag critical value panel appears once a study is at Scan done or later.

  1. Phone the referring doctor and get a read-back. For example: tension pneumothorax, free air, or an acute bleed.
  2. Open Flag critical value and fill in Notified to (name, role) and, if needed, Time notified.
  3. Tap Save critical value call.

Other radiologists, administrators, the quality manager and the medical director are alerted. If an order is ever marked critical without a logged call, Mark as verified is blocked until the call is recorded. See Critical value workflow.

Contrast checks

If your department assigns the Contrast Administration Check to you (signature Radiologist / nurse), open it from Tasks or from the order. Record Serum creatinine / eGFR and the contrast name, dose and batch, confirm the emergency drugs are ready, then sign and tap Submit inspection.

What you can't do

Task Who does it
Mark as scan done Radiographer (or another role that can collect)
Register, edit or Cancel a study Radiographer, front office
Mark as delivered Radiographer, front office
Verify lab reports Pathologist, lab manager
Assign checklists, approve audits Managers

Note: Your role cannot cancel imaging orders, so the Cancel button doesn’t appear for you. Ask the radiographer or the front desk.

Try it

Sign in as radiologist@diagnostics.test or radiologist@hospital.test, password password. In the demo diagnostic centre, open Fatima Khan (USG abdomen & pelvis, Scan done, Urgent). Tap Mark as reported, then Mark as verified.
